Bethel Historical Society High School History Internship

During the summer of 2008, the Bethel Historical Society will offer a history internship to a qualified Bethel area high school student.  Applicants should be between 14 and 18 years of age, possess a strong interest in learning about local and regional history, and be highly motivated, honest, and reliable.  The Society's Education Committee will review all applications, select candidates to be interviewed, and make a recommendation to the Executive Director.  Applications must be received at the Society's office (207-824-2908) by May 16, 2008.  A decision will be made by June 13, with the internship to begin on July 1 and continue until August 29.  A stipend of $1000 will be paid in two installments.  The successful applicant may be involved in museum tours, special events, oral history projects, collection management, exhibit preparation, and other museum-related activities.
